Get Ready Day is Sept. 15, 2020!This Get Ready Day — Sept. 15 — get better prepared for disasters with free resources from APHA.

Natural disasters are already getting more severe — and climate change is only expected to make things worse — yet surveys show many Americans are underprepared and don’t have an emergency plan.

Get Ready Day, held the third Tuesday in September, encourages health workers, organizations, community groups and students to join APHA in raising awareness about the importance of getting prepared. The day is also a chance to start emergency preparedness conversations in your own household.

Fortunately, it’s easy to get started. Visit APHA’s Get Ready site today to access — and share — a wealth of free resources, including facts sheets, checklists, Q&As with experts, videos, podcasts and materials made especially for families and kids.

The resources cover a range of natural disasters, including infectious disease pandemics, and offer tips on how to create a household emergency plan, put together an emergency stockpile, assemble a go-bag and much more.

Help APHA spread the word about emergency preparedness this Get Ready Day with the hashtag #GetReadyDay and let us know what you’re doing to stay safe and get prepared at home.
