APHA is celebrating the public health workforce for all the great things they do today as part of Public Health Thank You Day.

Organized annually by Research!America, the day encourages people to honor public health workers who labor tirelessly year-round to protect Americans from disease, injury and other health threats.

This year’s theme is “Public Health is a Lifesaver, Today and Every Day.” It underscores public health workers’ dedication to communities, such as ensuring low-income people have rides to medical appointments, advocating on the importance of safe streets for pedestrians or working toward neighborhoods that are free of gun violence.
